Tape span

Post by bertelu »

Hi, apologies for the question but i'm quite new.
i have a network share to be backed up to tape and i would give BR a try
the destination tape is not an autoloader but a simple LTO tape standalone.

will also in this case file-to-tape span the backup across multiple cartridge? (so asking to replace the tape once reached the max capacity)

thanks in advance

Luca

Hello Luca,

Sure. If tape media runs out of space - tape job will await for a new tape to be inserted for 72 hours. Cheers!
