sql server 2016 SP1 express eol

Hello,

I read SQL Server 2016 SP1 Express is EOL by Microsoft.
So I wanted to upgrade the SQL server which is installed by default when installing Veeam Backup & Replication 9.5

However the error message I get is that "no shared features where selected" (see print screen)


Is there a solution for this?
Or should I not bother upgrading sql server at all?
