Exchange 2016 Restore Mailboxes

Post by Denzel »

Hello,

we need to transfer some mailboxes to another exchange server. The users and their mail addresses remain the same. But as they move to another domain the SID changes.
Is it now possible to transfer these mailboxes without problems, or is there something you have to consider. It would be nice if no PST file had to be created.
Thanks for your answers.

There are 2 options you can use. You can use the Veeam Explorer for Exchange to restore to another location or leverage a PST.

You will have to first create new mailboxes at the destination and then use those as a target during the restore via the Explorer for Exchange.

Thank you very much for your feedback.
I will try it out and give you a feedback. But it will take another 14 days.

Hello,
we tried to migrate our mailboxes with Veeam to a new server over the weekend.
The migration also worked but not all mails were migrated for almost all mailboxes.
Sometimes 500 mails per user were not migrated.
Do you have an idea? Or do you have to make special settings during the migration.
