File Copy Job sizing

Post by Yuya »

Backup jobs have a recommended requirement of "one core per task".

I want to know the sizing when executing File Copy Jobs in parallel.
Do you have any information?

Hello Yuya,
what are you trying to do?

File copy jobs are not built for "large scale". There is simply no sizing recommendation for them. Almost nobody uses them :-)

If you really found a use case for a file copy job: if you sized the environment properly for normal backup, then the file copy job will find resources somewhere. No need to worry about it

Hannes

Thank you! I understand.
I have one more question.

What server resources are used when performing File Copy Jobs?
Copy source server?
Destination server?
Veeam management server?

Hello,
the management server is always used at least for coordination.

For data transfer it depends. If it is a copy between two managed servers, then the transfer happens directly. If not, then the backup server is used.
