Veeam Backup VM Domain Controller to Local NAS

Post by MCD »

Hi,

Have recently installed Veeam Community to trial on our small network (Win2019 host) with 3no VM's (1 x Win2019 SQL 2014 Server, 1 x Win2019 Domain Controller & File Share, 1 x Win2019 Exchange 2014).

All machines are working fine and are setup to backup to a Lan connected PC with 5tb drive and a Buffalo Terrastation NAS box, c/w raid 10 4tb drives.

Backups work fine, except for the DC to Terrastation, which takes on average of 4 days to backup 50gb (with a transmission rate of 5mb/s), whereas the Exchange and SQL only take a matter of hours to backup and are around the same size machines, I have tried rebooting everything and still the same.

Any thoughts - thanks in advance.

Hello Mark,

To make sure I got it - all machines are protected via vm backup job (not via agent backup job)? Primary repository is a windows machine, right? Thank you!
