Feature Request: Backup/Export Virtual Lab

Post by cfizz34 » 2 people like this post

It would be really great if you could give me the ability to backup/export the virtual labs so they could easier be restored if something external breaks them. And obviously, I would need a import option as well.

Hi Chad,

Thanks for the idea! This feature would save a lot of time :)

As a workaround, you may write a script based on our PowerShell cmdlets to create Virtual Lab with pre-defined settings.
One more alternative option is to use configuration backup to be able to roll back the configuration database to a specific point in time: before the issue with Virtual Lab.

Thanks!

Thanks, I'll look at the PS scripts. What I am running into is if the lab gets around or deleted from the ESX side it causes the VEEAM side to get pissed and then you can't do anything with it but start over and if you don't do this but every 6 months you forget all the steps (or at least I do). And when you have to add back 20 network mappings it can get very tedious.

Hello,

Yes, all the arguments above are totally valid but this request does not appear quite often so I cannot comment on ETA.

Thanks!
