Excluding a folder containing vApps

Post by lorengordon »

Hello,
I've configured an exclusion in a backup job. The exclusion is a folder, and the folder contains two vApps with a total of 3 VMs. However, when I run the backup job, it still attempts to backup those VMs. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong? Could someone else please attempt this and let me know what you find? I'm using Veeam Backup v5.0.2.230, and the latest patches on ESX 4.1U1 and vCenter 4.1U1.

Thanks,
-Loren

Loren, I would suggest to go with our support through this to investigate what exactly are you doing and what happens with your excluded VMs. Thanks.

I've put in a ticket with support. I just thought I'd post here as well to see if anyone might want to give it a shot to confirm the issue. I've found the forums to be a great place for identifying issues and solutions, and I prefer the self-service nature of it, so I'd generally rather use this than support if I can.

You are right, this is simply not a known issue.
