Backup Chain
Hello, community. Is it possible to master the following tasks with Veeam Backup.
I want to make a full backup once a week (Saturday). No incremental or differential backups.
But only 4 backups should be created on the target.
Somehow I can't do this without you. Can you help me?
I use Veeam Agent for Windows Free
Thank you

Re: Backup Chain
Hi Stefan,
Should do the trick:
- Set 4 restore points to keep on Storage Settings step of New Backup Job Wizard depending on your storage type.
- Then, in Advanced Backup Settings tick "Create active full backups periodically" and choose "Weekly on this days", "Days" > "Saturday".
- Finally, in Scheduling Settings tick "Daily at" and choose "On selected days", "Days" > "Saturday".
Best regards,
Oleg

Re: Backup Chain
Yes, it is for Agent for Windows Free edition.
Agent will take into account not calendar days, but those on which backups were successfully created as described here.
So, you will have 4 restore point retention policy even though your backup job runs once a week.
