Hey guys

All started after Veeam B&R v10 upgrade, my veeam server is a Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise SP1 (windows update is ok), it's a vm on hyper-v server 2012, i have other VM's in the same host and on other hosts, linux and windows (7, server 2008, 2008 r2, etc), i have a powershell script that crate full veeam zip backup 2 times in a week.

I also have some file jobs on veeam where the backup data is stored on the veeam server it self (it's a lun from storage) and on ibm tape.

File job recovery from storage and ape are working.

My problem is with Veeam ZIP backup, vbk files, when i try to restore 'entire vm' or 'guest files' (both linux and windows) the message 'Repository type unknow' is presented in a pop up....

Already did the repait and even reinstalled veeam on the same server but i still get this error... this is for old and new vbk files...

I use the community edition, i have opened a case at https://my.veeam.com/, #04016725

Also, @ 'C:\ProgramData\Veeam\Backup\Console\localhost\Console_<mysuer>.log' i found this:

Hi Guilherme, thanks for providing the case ID. I can see that it is currently being investigated so let's give our engineers some time for closer analysis.

There's a workaround. Close the pop-up and select
Restore / VMware vSphere... / Restore from backup / Entire VM restore / Entire VM restore / Add VM / From backup...
Select the VM that failed to restore / Add / Next
and proceed as usual.

I'm with same problem!!! Do you already have a patch to fix this problem?

Hi, according to the OP's case notes, this was confirmed as an issue that is going to be addressed in one of the following updates. As a workaround, please try to remove the backups from the configuration by right-clicking it in Veeam B&R console under the Backups > Disk (VeeamZIP) node. Then double-click the VBK file in Windows Explorer to restore. Thanks!

Hi, after doing that, I get the same error "Repository type unknown". I need to rollback to 9.5 version, because if I have to restore a virtual machine, I can´t, and this is critic. Can you help me?

If you need to restore a VM, then maybe using a self-extract utility can help you? If this does not work either, please ask assistance from our support team. Thanks!

So, no fix yet? There's no point in being able to backup a VM if we can't import it back...

I managed to import it back using the workaround above, thanks. Not optimal, but that'll do for the time being

I have exactly the same issue. Updated from 9.5 to 10.0 and ran into same error. Even with fresh backups taken by V10.
The deleting from configuration is working - but after reimporting the backups I get the same errormessage.

all you have to do is clicking the job in the console and then start the restore from there, not by doubleclicking the file in explorer. (did a supportcall)

Any update about this case? Same problem for restore old backup from tape to repository then restore from disk. Open restore y show "Repository type unknow"
