Problem with understanding Tape-Support

Post by Reimold »

Hello,

it seems that I have a little problem with understanding how tape support works. I have a single LTO8 drive connected to Veeam and I have sucessfully tried both backup to tape and files to tape jobs. I would like to export the latest state of a VM backup once in a while to tape for archive purposes but the job I have setup does not put the latest backup to tape - it creates a synthetic full from a few days agon.

My source backup comes from an forever incremental job and I have a tape job that has "process latest full backup chain only" activated.

Could someone please show me where I am wrong ?

Thank you

Dirk

Hi Dirk,
With Forever Forward incremental chain(that means you disabled Active Full and Synthetic Fulls), we have created a special Virtual Full Tape backup. Make sure to tick Virtual Full Schedule and you will get desired Full backup on Tape with no up-to-date Full backup on disk!
/Cheers!
