Virtual Lab static mapping?

Post by FredNurkle »

I've set up a virtual lab with some servers on one vlan and a test workstation on another vlan. That bit's working fine.

Now I want to allow users to log into that test workstation to interact with the servers. Here's what I've got set up, but it does not work.

Server vlan 10.10.10.x
Workstation vlan 10.1.1.x, the isolated workstation IP is 10.1.1.147

Proxy appliance is on 10.10.10.239

vNIC1 Masquerade IP 10.254.x.x Appliance IP 10.10.10.1
vNic2 Masquerade IP 10.1.255.x Appliance IP 10.1.1.1

static map is (isolated) 10.1.1.147 to (production workstations) 10.1.1.246.

Where have I got wrong?

Hi James,

Just to be clear, what is your proxy appliance IP in production vlan? Is it 10.1.1.246?
Static mapping should go between reserved IP assigned to the proxy’s vNIC in production vlan and workstation IP in isolated vlan you want to access.

Thank you,
Oleg
