VEEAM Backup Power Outage during now error starting VM's

The VM 1 is the VEEAM BU VM. The backup (API mode) was in process and the power went out.
I would really like to get these VM's started. Any chance of doing so?


VM 1:

Reason: Could not open/create change tracking file.
Cannot open the disk '/vmfs/volumes/4dd8880f-6b2a794a-0658-bcaec533f871/Windows 2008 R2 Enterprise/Windows 2008 R2 Enterprise.vmdk' or one of the snapshot disks it depends on.


VM 2:

Reason: The system cannot find the file specified.
Cannot open the disk 'lillypond.com-000001.vmdk' or one of the snapshot disks it depends on.
VMware ESX cannot find the virtual disk "lillypond.com-000001.vmdk". Verify the path is valid and try again.

Also,
The lillypond VM has a VEEAM Temporary Snapshot point.
VEEAM TEMPORARY BACKUP SNAPSHOT
Please do not delete this snapshot. It is being used by Veeam Backup.

OK. Got things running. Here's how.

VM 1:
I removed the lillypond vmdk's that were for some reason attached to this VM (in the VM settings).
Then created a snapshot of the VM and deleted the snapshot. VM starts and works fine.

VM 2:
Removed the VEEAM snapshot (deleted all - however it was the only snapshot). Then removed all 3 of the VMDK disks. Some reason the were registering in the VM settings as provisioned @ 0... Added them back to the VM in the correct order. VM (Windows DC) booted in DR mode. Changed the Startup BOOT option via msconfig - disabling Safe Mode boot. Every thing works now.

Going forward My VEEAM backup job will now use Network mode. I'll backup the VEEAM BU system via flat VM copy and/or Windows 2008 R2 native backup.

V2V resolved.
Not sure I'll use the API mode to backup my VEEAM BU VM any longer...
I see that doing so adds the VM disks to the Veeam VM. If there's an issue during the process things get funky....

Here's this same - nearly - as I encountered. I see someone else using VEEAM in the thread too.

The main post is in regards to VMWare Backup.. Hope it helps others.
