Unable to add an Azure account

Post by Asahi »

Hello ,

I'm currently testing Veeam Backup for Azure.
The Virtual Machine was successfully deployed and the web console was accessed.
I have proceeded to the Add Azure Account screen, but an error has occurred.

The Azure account you are currently registering for has the "User Access Administrator" and "Owner" roles assigned to it.
However, when you register your account, you will get the following error message
I've tried a few times with some time to spare, but I always get this message output.

===
Unable to check required permissions.
This might be a problem in Microsoft Azure.
Please wait and continue with the wizard later.
===

Do you have any good advice? :D
Any opinion will help me.

Kind Regards,
Asahi,

Hi Asahi, did you try it later by any chance? It may have been due to internal timeouts that this happened. If the problem persist, I would suggest contacting support for insight as it is hard to tell via these forums what is causing it. Do let us know the support case ID for future reference if you do contact them.

Hi Ashai,

Can you also confirm if your account uses mfa or another 3rd party security tool for access?

Hello!

I also uploaded the logs to the support case.
Case Number: 04162259

Also, I do not use MFA or 3rd party security tools.

Hi Ruben,

I know this is not very helpful, but when I had my problem 3 years ago, I contacted the Veeam support team.

At the time, the Veeam support team asked me to isolate test if the problem was on the Azure side and if the account registration was successful when another admin user was used.
In my test environment, using a different administrator user failed.

Finally, for some reason, I rebuilt the Veeam Backup for Azure appliance and it succeeded. :shock:

If the ports required for your system requirements are also open and your permissions are fine, I would recommend contacting the Veeam support team.

It is a good idea to receive updates from the support team.
