Rescan Job fails, if workstation is powered off
We did run into that recently at a customer, where we did not yet use WOL for maintenance windows.
Settings:
Rescan for agents daily at 9 pm.
Scenario:
The workstation is powered off at that time.
Error:
We do receive an error on VBR, saying "Cannot send backup policy".
Do I just need some clarification on that topic or is there a reasonable missing feature, so a Feature Request, to suppress warnings where workstations are powered off while the rescan job runs is a decent solution?

Re: Rescan Job fails, if workstation is powered off
Hi Christoph,
When you run Rescan job and VBR could not connect to a workstation, you get Warning message (Cannot connect).
Apply policies is a separate process and there is a strict logic depending on previous job status here:
If the workstation is online - we try to apply policy;
If the workstation is offline - we check the status of the previous "apply policy" process for this workstation:
But in this case it is more safe to check on the error message than just suppress it.

If the workstation is online - we try to apply policy;
If the workstation is offline - we check the status of the previous "apply policy" process for this workstation:
- if it was successful and policy has not been changed - we assume it as a success;
- if it was unsuccessful or policy has been changed - we put an error message.
But in this case it is more safe to check on the error message than just suppress it.

Hi Natalia,
thx for the clarification.
We do get a error message for the workstation, which is offline. The policy did not change for weeks. I will create a ticket with your support.

Hi @Natalia,
we did create Ticket 04192513. Sadly it seems we don't move forward. We want to know, if we did a misconfiguration, if a component does not work correctly or if it is a bug :\
Pls help
