Hi,
We have a number of Storage Repos that are Dell servers with direct attached storage. Currently these are server 2019 and the repos are directSAN attached to the iSCSI SANs, and so act as the Backup Proxy too. I am planning on testing a Linux based storage repo and using XFS reflink/Fastclone. One thing I cannot find information on is using a Linux repo with directSAN mode.
Is directSAN still supported on a Linux based storage repo/proxy?
If so, are there any pitfuls to be aware of (like the SAN policy/automount disable thing in Windows)? or is it just a case of scanning the iscsi targets on the linux OS and continue as normal?
Thanks,
A

Re: Linux Repository - directSAN
Hi,
Direct SAN transport mode is not currently suported for backup proxy on Linux, you can only use hotadd.
Thanks!
