Wanting to move a replica VM to a different Host

Post by paws82 »

In order to move a server_replica VM to a different host, is it as easy and backing up the replica VM, restoring it to the new host, then adjusting any backup jobs that include the replication?

Thank you,

Danny

Pretty much so, just use Replica Mapping option on the VM copy.
/Thanks!

In the Replication jobs: Update the Destination/Datastore (destination tab), and then adjust the Replica mapping part (Seeding tab). Did I understand/figure out correctly?

Thank you, Egor.

Yes. Replica job will then pick existing VM as a base for new replication cycle at a new destination!

Instead of backing up and restoring you could also replicate a replica with subsequent failover. Should be faster.
