Internal CA/public IP

Hey there,

I recently had the chance to test out Veeam in Azure and have a few questions.

I dislike self signed certifiates and wonder what kind of key extensions I need to have in order to get the appliance work with an internal certificate from our CA.
For Veeam B&R that is well documented. But I could not find anything related to Veeam in Azure and the key extensions of both certificates, VBR and VBR, are different.

I also would like to know if the public IP is ofr any use? For now I removed it from the configuration and havent notice any difference yet. As we only connect from our internal corporate network, I dont see any usecase for a public IP on a backup appliance. I might be wrong though.

Anyone can help out?

Hi Daniel,

1) You can adjust the certificate under the configuration, for more information you can check our user guide. Does this help you further?

2) The public IP is normally used for connecting to the web UI however it has been confirmed by our QA testing, it can also run on an internal IP and therefor you can disable / block it.

thanks for the feedback.
It turned out the certificate for the controller is simply for the website and the workers certificate cannot be changed.
Nice the public IP is optional (at least in my case).
