Veeam 10 and Veeam Communty 9.5 U4a

Post by eholz1 »

Is veeam 10 backward compatible with VB&R Community 9.5 U4a?
Currenty I am running VB&R 95. 4a full version on one server, and the community edition (same version) on another server.
I use the community edition for an additional backup/config copy job. At one time I upgraded the community edition first (to 9.5 U4a) and it would not talk to the older full version. I upgraded the full version to 9.5U4a and all was well.

In this case I plan to upgrade the full version from 9.5 U4a to ver 10.

Any thoughts?

I love veeam,

You should not run different Veeam versions in the same environment, if this is what you're asking. They have different components versions, so if you try to share the same server between different versions for example, then nothing good will happen.

On an unrelated note, there's also a non-technical issue with what are you doing: using the Community Edition along side a paid edition to protect the same environment is against the Veeam Licensing Policy. Not that we're going to chase you for doing this of course :D but license compliance is often an important item for company's execs.

Thanks for sending love!!
