I'm going to be building two new servers to act as Veeam Repository Servers, and I have some questions on how I should set it up.
Specs
Each server has Dual 12-core processors, 192GB Memory, and 26x 14TB MDL SATA drives.
2x 14TB drives will be global hot spares.
There are two 3.84TB SSD's for the OS and Veeam vPower NFS location.
The plan is for one server to be in each of our datacenters to act as the local Veeam repository server. Each server would do a backup copy to the opposite server to keep a few restore points in the opposite site.
What is the recommended Server 2019 build? LTSC or 19.09?
Should I create one large ReFS volume on each server?
Or, should I create a number of smaller volumes and add them to a SOBR instead?
Hi Glenn, with a single large volume you will fully benefit from FastClone. You can take whatever build, just make sure to install KB4541331 if you go with LTSC, this update resolves a number of ReFS issues including performance related.
