NetApp FCP/Direct SAN Access

Post by wade-roc »

Hello All-

We have 4 ESX hosts that connect via fiber channel to a FAS3140. I am looking to configure Veeam for Direct SAN access, and am having some issues. First off, as I understand the process, I just need to zone/mask my ESX LUNs such that they are visible to my Veeam server, ensure automount is disabled, and Veeam will handle the rest.

Is this the correct process?? The issue I'm finding with the NetApp is that it requires a specific OS type to be defined for the initiator group and I don't see how I can zone the Veeam (Windows) server against the ESX LUNs. This may be more of a NetApp question, but I figured I'd start here, hoping someone had a similar configuration in place.

Thanks in advance!
