Can I backup EMC XTREM IO

We have XTREM IO storage that we would like to backup using Veeam 10, is this possible? I heard it is not becasue EXTREM IO uses large block sizing. Has anyone done this if so how?

but how do I add it to the Veeam BU server, do I add it like I did my VNX 5500? It is not an SMB share so I am confused

Well, how do your users access the share?

You can do NAS backup as an added Linux/Windows server, NFS, or SMB as best I know.

Surely one of those protocols must be valid?

It is not a share we have a few old Rhel v5 servers running oracle and they are connected to the xtremio i cannot install the veeam agent because it is an older OS

In that case, another option would be to register the RHEL v5 server with Veeam (Add Server > Linux), then add this server as the data source on the Inventory tab (Add File Share > File Server). Here's the corresponding User Guide section that covers both steps.

With that done, you will be able to use File Backup jobs to protect all files sitting on the EMC XTREM IO through your RHEL servers.
