Re: Tape backup of SQL transaction logs (VLB)
Sure, the improvement request is noted to support both SQL and Oracle log backup functionally. Thanks!

Re: Tape backup of SQL transaction logs (VLB)
When can we actually count on having a fully functional product?
GFS is still not able to backup SQL Logs. All our Backup Tapes are used by the GFS Media Pool so File to Tape is a NoGo.
So just remove that VLB/VSM Filter and you have a fully functional Product.
It seems that more and more Veeam is shipping only broken things instead of working...

Re: Tape backup of SQL transaction logs (VLB)
Hello fga,
Can you please explain your use case of having the GFS for transaction log backups? The reason I am asking: to restore from the transaction log backup you must have a full copy of your databased (which is likely to be in the full backup of the vm) and the entire chain of logs till the very day you are about to restore (which simply would not exist in case of regular GFS rotation schema). Thank you in advance!

Re: Tape backup of SQL transaction logs (VLB)
Why would i not have the transaction logs?
GFS Schema that is run for this machine:
Fulls on Saturday, incs. on Weekdays, Loghsipping to Veeam Server every 5 Minutes.
All i am asking for is that files that are already on Harddisk (VLB Transaction Log files) are also saved to Tape with the corresponding Machine Backups.
I can go back 3 Weeks on Harddisk down to the single Transaction.
But in case the Backup Storage crashes i can go back exactly 0 days because i have no tape backup of the transaction logs.
