Exclude Folders or Directory from Backup job

Good morning all,

Just been asked to exclude a sub directory on a drive from the backup job.

When I go to edit the job and exclude the sub directory the only option is to exclude the whole drive, is there another way?

I had a look at guest processing which is not enabled on the file server job but if I do enable i can exclude the directory in the processing settings, is this method supported?

using v10 on vsphere environment

Hello fazzauk,

Please try to enabled VM Guest OS File Exclusion under application processing options in the vm backup job and add the desired folder to the exclusion list. Cheers!

just to add, exclusion rules only work for Windows based guest OS
