Installing agent on Oracle Linux v7

Post by panzer »

Hi.
I need to install a Linux agent on a server running Oracle Linux v7. The server does not have internet connection. I have tried to deploy the agent from the Backup and Replication Server (v10), but I get this error message: "Failed to install Veeam Agent for Linux: One of the configured repositories failed (Veeam Backup for GNU/Linux - x86_64), and yum doesn't have enough cached data to continue".
What am I missing?

Hi,

Although Veeam server does provide Linux agent packages (veeam and veeamsnap), all other dependencies are to be obtained from the corresponding linux distro repositories.

That is, the linux host will attempt to install the required dependencies (such as dkms and kernel-headers) using a built-in package manager (yum).
If there is no internet connection then the installation process will fail. You can try to configure a local Oracle repository mirror or set up a proxy, or install the required prerequisite packages manually (see the user guide for details).

Please also note that deployment on Oracle Linux is affected by this issue.

Thanks!
