Veeam Disaster Recovery

Post by adrian138 »

Hi there,

I have 2 DC's one

srvdc01 (physical DC with FSMO Role)
srvdc02 (virtual DC)

Whats Best for Disaster Recovery, Replicate the physical DC or virtual DC?

Thanks for your help

I would say protect both.

In the end it do not matter as long as you backup a Global Catalog DC. FSMO roles can be changed to other server as needed.
If your domain is part of a forest, make sure to backup the root domain as well as a lot of things are stored there only. For example for Exchange.

Hi, Thanks for your Feedback. I backup the whole VM, so Global Catalog is inside this Backup? or do i need to configure this?

Thanks

Hi Adrian,
I think it should be enabled for your DCs automatically, but please check here:
