Figuring Storage Requirements for Object Offload?

Post by jlester »

We're currently doing our main backups to a storage server in our data center. We then do a copy job to another location about 30 miles away. We also archive a full set of backups each week to LTO tape for an offline air gap. We're investigating replacing the tape archives with S3 object storage with immutability. I'm having a hard time determining how to calculate what our cost would be. Our onsite storage server holds 60 days of backups and is about 11TB. My copy jobs last night transferred 126GB (after dedupe). Would my daily delta be 126GB?

Thanks, Jason
