v6 Quick Migration questions

Post by caustic386 »

Can EVC mode be used to enable VM transfer via Quick Migration to hosts that are of a slightly different CPU family, such as with standard vMotion?

Will a cluster be required for this operation (regardless of EVC)?

Yes, EVC mode should allow transferring running state. No, cluster is not required for Quick Migration.

Will Quick Migration utilize existing replicas to speed up the migration process, or will the migration always start from the beginning?

It always starts from the beginning. By definition of migration, we don't expect anything to be on target (at least for the use cases we are building this feature for).
