Veeam B&R not working with Windows 10 20H2 ?

Hi there, I have a fresh install on Windows 10 Pro N -20H2. However when trying to add a Hyper V Server to V B&R Community Edition it aborts with saying "Microsoft Windows 10 (1507) is not supported". Am I ahead of my time?

That's correct - latest Veeam B&R version does not support Windows 20H2. We plan to provide the official support with the upcoming hotfix. Cheers!

Please note that this topic is about the most recent Windows 10 version 2009 (aka 20H2).

Version 1507 is a 5 years old build of Windows 10... even Microsoft does not support it since 2017.

By any chance, did you try do the same before installing the patch? In other words, did you try to leverage this machine with the product version that did not yet support Windows 10 20H2?

For me, yes. The message appears also with version 10.0.1.4854.
That was the reason why I installed the latest hotfix.
Server restart after installation does not help either.

OK... it's never a good idea to use software against machines with an unsupported operating system, because it is not known to the software and thus the results of such interaction are completely unpredictable. I think your previous failed attempt to deploy Veeam components to an unsupported OS is now preventing the updated components that do support this OS version from being installed. Try to remove all Veeam components from this machine manually, reboot it and see if that helps to register it with Veeam?

Side note: we never willingly deployed Veeam on 20H2; Windows 10 (Pro for Workstations) decided by itself to upgrade from 2004 to 20H2...
