Performance extent on Scale-Out repository unavailable

Post by Symjett »

Hi

I have a question about Scale-Out.

Let's say that we have one performance extent that is a NAS device and the capacity extent is Azure Blob Storage in a Scale-Out.
As even though files get sent up to the capacity extent, smaller files are still remaining on the performance extent that are used to restore files from the Blob storage.
If the performance extent gets unavailable, are we still able to recover the backups on the capacity extent? How do you restore those files in that case?

Hi Simon,

Yes, you will still be able to restore data from the capacity tier directly > Restore Scenarios

Thanks!
