Linux vm backup hyperv

Post by dhayes16 »

Hello All
So last month we converted a rhel 6.4 physical machine to a virtual machine running under hyperv. It works quite well. The Linux vm is running a mysql database but is not very large at all.

I have seen old white papers on this for people with VMware but nothing for hyperv. What would be a good plan to backup this Linux vm?

Thanks in advance.

Veeam B&R? ;) ...or you can continue using Veeam Agent for that.

Thanks. Well we are backing up other windows vms on that hyperv host and have a separate dedicated b&r box to do the backups. B&r does see the Linux virtual machine but I was just wondering if I could just select it from b&r to backup without loading anything on the Linux box to handle mysql and such.

Not sure If I fully understand the question, but if you need scripts and such to handle your MySQL, then you need to the same with Veeam B&R backup job configuration.
