Hello,
case 04546054.
in preperation for V11 XFS immutability we created a new rather big XFS repo. Its working perfectly so far.
We want to secure it as much as possible even bevore V11 and asked support if we can use it without root/sudo. They told us that this is not supported which I find strange considering there are websites recommending to use XFS repo without root/sudo even with V10 (for example https://vzilla.co.uk/vzilla-blog/gettin ... ck-cloning).
So - is root/sudo necessary or not?
Markus

Re: Linux Repo - root/sudo necessary?
Hello Markus.
The web page is correct - just create a local account on the Linux repo. I set up my test Ubuntu repo this way, worked very well.

Hello,
The link is fine in addition here is the Best practice information for hardening Security for a Linux Repository as well.
https://bp.veeam.com/vbr/VBP/Security/h ... linux.html
This goes over the information mentioned in the link as well.
