Changing from Paid to BYOL later?

Post by lando_uk »

Hi

If we were to start using the AWS Paid edition from the Marketplace and later decide to change to a BYOL model, is that possible without replacing everything and starting again?

Thanks

Hi Mark,

To confirm, you can't change the license directly. You can however use the migration KB to deploy a new BYOL instance that would allow you to replace the license and keep your data like policies, configuration, etc.

So possible, but could be problematic if you have users and trust relationships between accounts?

Also, how does the Paid version work with a VBR server? as right now when you use the plugin to attach the appliance it uses your VBR lic file.

It will consume VUL licensing, all possibilities are available in our licensing policy and normally your local sales will be able to assist you as well regarding pricing.
