use a password protected user to create veeam backups

Post by ccc »

Hi

We have Veem Backup and FastSCP Version 4.1.1 and we backup all VM's from the VMware ESX 3.5 to the NAS Server.
The problem is, we're using a guest account without password to create VM backups.
Now we have created a new password protected user on the NAS and we would like to have or use the same user account on the Veem.
How it should work?

Hi, the user account for Veeam Backup & Replication service must have sufficient privileges to write to the NAS share. I suppose you try to use local computer account for B&R service with the user name and password matching the one you are using on your NAS share, but I have not tested this. Remember to add the account to the Local Administrators group. Thanks!
