V11 Hardened Repository - Cannot Retry

Hello,
I have tested with V11 the Hardened Repository.
I had an error because a VM was not reachable, so far quite normal.
On retry I get the following error message:
Error: Operation not permitted
POSIX: Failed to create or open file [/data/ImmutableBackup/ImmutableBackupD2021-02-15T220053_7136.vib]. Failed to open storage for read/write access. Storage: [/data/ImmutableBackup/ImmutableBackupD2021-02-15T220053_7136.vib]

The vib file to which the message refers is the increment of the last backup, which of course cannot be changed.

Is there a trick for retry?

No tricks there Falk... immutable is immutable

But it would still be interesting to have your case reviewed closer as from what I vaguely remember, backup file should not be made immutable while there are still job retries pending, specifically because of what you experienced. There is always a chance this design was later changed, but I believe the original plan was like that.

Our QC has played with your scenario a little, looks like there's a bug in a corner case in the following circumstances:
1. Per-VM backup chains option is disabled, and
2. VM becomes inaccessible during the backup

Retries will fail indeed, but the job will be able to continue normally during the following runs.

So it's not really a severe issue, but we will fix this in the next update.

thank you for the quick support.
My workaround at the moment is to do a QuickBackup of the VM to avoid backing up all VM's again.
