Single job many machines or many job

Post by beasty1711 »

Hi,

I've only just enabled replication off our Hyper v cluster. Whats best practice in terms of setting up jobs.

I have 8 vm's that need to be replicated every 30mins. Am i best to have 8 jobs with one machine, or 1 job with 8 machines?

thanks

This do not really matter. I think one job is more convenient.
If a Job do not run completely for whatever reason it can retry automatically or manually the VMs that are not processed. So this is not an argument for having multiple Jobs.

The only negative side effect is, that when you have to run an active full (for whatever reason) you can do this ony with a full job.
