I have multiple repositories but on on them is a quick cheap and deep (100TB) TrueNAS server that I mounted to a SMB share on VEEAM. HOWEVER, sometime I use the same share to just "copy" extra" [junk] as a temporary hold - (like files from a previous employee). They never stay there long.
The questions is, if I do a rescan on that repository is it picking of the file level data that I just copied over there as well as my VBK's??

No, rescan will only process Veeam backup files.
