Backup User
Hi Veeamer's.
Since I activated Teams backup Veeam always adds the Backupuser to every team.
And our ADSync Bot is kicking that user afterwards again.
This shows up in every Teams timeline that this happenes it says:
backupusername joined the team
MS Teams AadSync has removed backupusername from the team
This fills up the timelines of every General Channel in every Teams.
Actually it should not do this since the Backupuser backupusername is already added as additional Administrator on every team!

Re: Backup User
Hi Peter,
The backup account has to be added team's owners in order to access some data (such as applications, for example), but after backup is completed it should be removed from the list (so what you see can be a bug and I'll check it).
Which version are you running?

Hello
We are facing the same issue. We are using version 5.0.0.1070
We are interested to know if there is any solution available.

Re: Backup User
Hello,
We also see this happening. I just got called by a site owner telling me that there was a new owner for his site, being the backup-account. Fwiw, we now use modern authentication, we stopped using legacy authentication a few weeks ago. we now run version 5.0.1.207.

Re: Backup User
Hi,
As far as I know, these annoying notifications pop-up in the timeline on older Teams app versions, while on the newer builds they're released.
@ Peter, did you switch to the modern app-only auth in VBO as well? If so, VBO would use an application instead of a backup account and wouldn't modify team owners at all.

Re: Backup User
@ Polina, yes, I switched to modern only a couple of weeks ago. Before that I used basic auth and the backup of that site can be made with using that authentication initially some weeks ago. I haven't heard of any other site (yet) that has the backup-account added.
