Veeam11 enable immutable function on existing repo

Post by AlexK977 »

Hi all,

I have a quick question regards immutable repos.

Currently we're have one Linux Repo via dsmISI mounted in Veeam, the tradtional way.
We just created a new Repo on dsmISI and we tried to add it now to Veeam with the flag ob being immutable, where we got the error, that all repos on the same host needs to have the flag set.

Do I have to think about something before I would set the immutable flag on the existing repo ?
Will anything happen (except of being immutable from the next backup on) to the backups / backup files ?

Thanks

Regular and immutable repositories can coexist on a single server only in case single-use credentials were used to add the server to Veeam B&R.

Hello and thanks for the answers already.

Yes, dsmISI does support Immutability and I've read the single-use-creds would be needed to support regular and immutable repos.
I still would like to use the feature on the repo which already exists and has data on it, where I'd like to know what happens when you activate it.

The entire latest backup chain will be marked immutable during the next job run.
