Disaster Recovery Help

Post by arestas »

Hello all,

I have two VBR server located in different zones. One of them has VBR isntalled (main site) and thats where we are doing all the backups. From this server we replicate Backups and VBR config file on a dailie basis.
We are also using Veeam to replicate Vmware VMs between sites.

My concerns are related on how can i failover VMs to the remote site if i completly lost main site?
Also i can only copy VBR config file once a day. is it possible to do it every x hours?

Regards,
Arestas

Hello,
most customers use the VBR server in the DR site to replicate the VMs. That allows to press the "failover" button.

That sounds easier and faster to me than restoring the configuration. From a license perspective it's no problem if you use Enterprise Manager (connect both VBR servers to Enterprise Manager)

Best regards,
Hannes

Hello,

So if i understood correctly i ll have 2 independent VBR servers.
Main one to handle backups and to copy some of the latest backups to DR.
The second one to handle VM replication and to do some restores form the replicated backups if necessary.

Is this correct?
