Backup Virtuozzo Container on Linux

Hi,

within a Virtuozzo Webinar, they mentioned, that several backup provider will be added, but it is not sure, if Veeam will be added too.
Do you have any information, if this will be added anytime soon?

We always have to use a 2nd vendor for virtuozzo and would love, if all could be done with Veeam.

That depends on what you are after.

If you are looking to back up files from within your cloud machines, then you can leverage a snapshot-less file-level backup mode (you can skip the installation of veeamsnap in this case). If you are looking for something else, then please elaborate what exactly you'd like Veeam to be able to do with Virtuozzo containers

Basically Containers are ploop files which should be backed up (together with some config files).
Without Snapshots and CBT, the transfer of the full file would take pretty long.
As commands exist to do snapshots on Virtuozzo, that could even be handled already, but without CBT, the backup windows would be extreme long if you need to copy in or compare in full each time.

The backup should be for disaster recovery (coping back the ploop to be able to instant run it again). Similar to HyperV VHDX Restore. Not just file based restore.
Of course, the possibility to mount the ploop within Virtuozzo to get single files aswell would be great. But our main concern is the full backup itself. The solution needs to be supported by Virtuozzo, otherwise it would be a support contract problem (unsupported system).

I kind of gave up wishing it comes to Veeam, but as they mentioned Veeam might come, other 3 major vendors will come for sure, I wanted to ask what the chances are actually. Basically most important would probably be, that they add veeamsnap into their kernel or have it officially supported. Everything else might work already then, as it is file based.

@PTide - in Virtuozzo's last Technical Webinar they mentioned that they already evaluate if they should/can integrate Veeam within Virtuozzo Hybrid Server Solution - see Screenshot.
Maybe Veeam can give Virtuozzo some good arguments why it would be beneficial for Virtuozzo customers if they integrate your great solution next to the already existing ones ...

I am writing to inquire if there have been any updates on the topic we discussed two years ago. It would be still extremely valuable for us to have the ability to back up our entire Virtuozzo hosting infrastructure using VEEAM.
