Oracle gaps - Case # 04771467

Post by makacmar »

Hello,
we have checked proof of oracle options by veeam, and we see gaps by:

1) truncating of archive logs is done after VM backup (incremental or full) only and not done after child job finish
2) restore of archive logs on customer VM - logs will be required in partial restores or when Oracle Data Guard runs out of sync
3) support of pluggable databases(PDB) separately from the container database

Hi Marcel,

thanks for sending the feedback. Indead the image level backup based Oracle integration is fokusing on covering te major usecase of simple backup and restore.
Our Veeam Plug-in for Oracle RMAN can help you in your cases.

Hi Marcel,

Could you please clarify what kind of environment overload are you talking about? The plug-in works exactly at the database level and will allow your customer to cover all mentioned use cases.

Thanks!
