Copy to object storage not working as expected

Hi all,

This is just an observation from my lab so no rush!
I implemented a SOBR using a bucket on Minio as my capacity tier. I've enabled both the copy and move options.
I set up a backup job of a vSphere VM - Forward incremental with GFS.

I expected that the backup files would be copied to the bucket on Minio but that hasn't happened. I can see that the offload job has run several times at 4 hour intervals but each job says "0 backups will be copied to the capacity tier" and "0 backups will be moved to the capacity tier". I though that (a) the offload copy job ran immediately after the backup job instead of on a 4 hour schedule and (b) I would see backup files being copied at least after the first offload job runs.

Any thoughts?

After your backup job completed there should’ve been an offload job that started. This would’ve copied the backup data to MinIO. The system generated sobr offloads that run every 4 hrs would then not have any data to copy, so those results are expected.

Look for a sobr offload that ran immediately after your backup job and you should see objects were copied to MinIO.

My bad. I had set up my backup job incorrectly. Working as expected now

Glad you solved it. Did you see the sobr offload kick off after the backup job finished and do you now see the restore point(s) showing under Backups:Object Storage on the left side of the VBR console?
