VeeamONE agent benefits?

Post by albertwt »

Hi All,

May I know what are the benefits of installing the VeeamONE for all of the VMs ?
because previously before v10, there was no VeeamONE agent required to monitor the VMware VMs.

Does the VeeamONE can now monitor physical servers or Azure VMs now with the agent?

Thanks in advance.

Hello,
just to be sure: are you asking about the agent that does the integration with VBR? https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/one/m ... ml?ver=110

If my guess before is right, then there is no benefit :-)

Veeam ONE agent — a component that enables communication with Veeam Backup & Replication servers, performs collection of logs, and sends remediation commands.

it's still the same in V11

Best regards,
Hannes

PS: I asked support to close the case as it its a "technical understanding" question and not a technical issue.

Hi Albert,

There are two benefits:
1. Ability to use Veeam Intelligent Diagnostics to discover known issues in VBR environments.
2. Ability to execute Remediation Actions on the VBR servers to automate mitigations of the issues.

You do not have to install the VONE Agent on all the VMs. It's just recommended to have it installed on your VBR servers to get access to the two aforementioned features.

Thanks
