Post by dcampregher »

Hello!

The SAP HANA / Oracle plugin register a log in the event viewer of the VBR like other job types such VM/Agents ? My version is 10 GA, i can't find any entry for these job type in the "Veeam" section in the Event Viewer.

Hello,
you already answered the question yourself :-)

If you are asking whether that's expected: yes https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... ml?ver=110

Hi Hannes.

This is bad. Do you know If there plans tô include this capability in future?

Other question: I believe that there is no PowerShell option available for plugins on VBR, right?

Currently we cannot provide any information regarding product future capabilities.

Your assumption is correct, but can you tell us what exact information you'd like to see exposed for these jobs in PowerShell? Should help us to set our future plans accordingly.

Thanks!

For example, this cmdlet provides basic information regarding plug-in jobs including last run results. Is it enough for your purposes or would you need to address some specific cases?

Thanks!

Hello all.

The cmdlet "Get-VBRPluginJob" quoted above work correctly for our case. I just updated the VBR do 11 because in V10 the cmdlet was freezed on the "LastRun" output.

After updating the VBR, the cmdlet return correct informations.

Thanks!

Hello,

On the plugin level, I would appreciate to have the following powershell or api commands :
- To correlate a file with an External Backup ID
- To query all the file sessions that where done for all or a specific plugin job
- To query all the file restored for a specific plugin job

Also, I do not know if it is possible,
But it would be great to have plugin information at Enterprise Manager Level.
I am not a regular user of VEEAM One. But if it is not possible at this time, it would be great to have a way to check that SLA (RPo) is applied properly for the plugin jobs.

Hi Romain,

All make sense, I appreciate your feedback! As usual, I cannot comment on ETA because we need to prioritize the request before we can decide on release in which we'll be able to deliver it.

Thanks!

Hi Khaled,

Veeam plug-in for SAP HANA is designed for backing up the SAP HANA database itself. Thus, if your system utilizes SAP HANA, then the answer is yes.

Thanks

Just wanted to add that as ECC can be installed on many database platforms, you need to pick the right backup method for the database that is used.
SQL => Agents/VM backup with guest processing.
Oracle => Use the SAP on Oracle or Orcale RMAN Plug-in
SAP HANA => Use the SAP HANA Plug-in.
...
