Hi I currently have veeam setup to have 7 restore points with weekly synthetic full on saturdays and auto deletion after 14 days. This leaves me with 14 files, 2 full backup and incremental files spanning 2 weeks worth of backup.
I have a NAS on a different location and we setup the vpn but because veeam creates a full backup file every 7 days, it would mean we have to manually copy the full backup files to the NAS as they are just too big to transfer over the internet and keep the NAS on other location for the remaining 6 days to copy incremental files over the internet.
I wanted to make this NAS process biweekly so we can physically move the NAS to site every 2 weeks to copy the full backup vbr files. I did not see an option in veeam to be able to make a full backup and then incremental files for 13 days. Is this possible ?

Re: Veeam biweekly full backup
Hello,
and welcome to the forums.
if you want to avoid transferring a full backup over WAN, then there are better options than trying to schedule something the scheduler is not built for.
1) if you place the gateway server on your target side, then the synthetic full processing happens there. only incremental data is transferred.

2) do backups on your source side for fast restore. use object storage (copy mode) at any cloud provider you prefer. capacity tier works incremental forever

3) theoretically you could also do iSCSI over WAN with REFS. But I'm not a fan of that. For that you would use your NAS as iSCSI target and leverage block cloning to reduce merge traffic https://www.veeam.com/blog/advanced-ref ... suite.html
If you really want to schedule bi-weekly fulls, then you can do that with an external scheduler (e.g. Windows Task scheduler). The command for each job is shown in the summary https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... ml?ver=110
Best regards,
Hannes

Re: Veeam biweekly full backup
The gateway server with synthetics full on remote site is a pretty good option. Thanks for the information.
