Log Viewer for Windows - Veeam Log Files

Post by wane »

Hello,
can anyone recommend a log viewer for Windows (free or not) to better read the txt files of the logs?

Or how do you do that (Powershell, Cygwin, ...)?

Many greetings, stay healthy

Hi Walter,

My favorite one is Notepad++ but I think you may also take a look at Sublime Text.

Thanks!

Yes, indeed, I also use Notepad. But I am still looking for helpful plugins. Which ones do you use?

What is the goal of your research and what functionality is missing in Notepad++ (not Notepad) ? I'm not sure I understand what kind of plug-ins are you looking for.

Thanks!

I am looking for something that highlights the important lines. I have now created an XML file to highlight useful lines and am testing SnakeTail on the side.

Hi Walter,

Basically, it depends on specific case and on purpose of log review because some lines can be important in one case but can be easily skipped in another one. Anyway, thanks for information!

Thanks!
