Visible in Veeam Service Provider Console?

Post by rjwolf82 »

At the moment we have several tenants with servers in Azure that only have Veeam Agent for Windows to cloud repository.
On the same servers we have a Veeam management agent to be able to see them in Veeam Service Provider Console v4 (Veeam Availability Console v3)

Is it possible (in the future) to add Azure VM's in Veeam Service Provider Console v4 that are part of Veeam Backup for Microsoft Azure?
Or do we have to rely on management and backup checks in Veeam Backup for Microsoft Azure webinterface and e-mail notifications?

Hi, no plans for now but we'll take your request into consideration. Would you just need basic functionallity like e-mail and monitoring or are you looking for a full integration with all capabilities?

Hi Robert-Jan,

As Niels said there are no definite plans on the integration for the standalone VB for Azure, however, we have some ideas on the quick integration via Veeam B&R. Do you have any Veeam B&R servers installed in your client's locations or you're managing Veeam Agents only?

Thanks!

For tenants with servers in Azure we only use Veeam Agent for Windows, we daily use Veeam Service Provider Console to check backups for those tenants, manage policies, etc.
It would be nice to have the option in the future perhaps to be able to monitor VB for Azure.

Ok, this scenario will not be supported in the first iteration of integration, but thanks for the post and the FR!

As for today, there is not utility to monitor ALL backups from Veeam from the service provider console if we want to use Veeam Backup for Azure?

Hello Frank,
If you are using Grafana, which I think you do. You can easily use the next Dashboard+Script: And that will give you backup results etc for Veeam Backup for Azure, then with the other Grafana Dashboard I have for Service Provider, you will have VBR+VSPC, etc: It is on my pipeline to make work the VSPC with the latest API, and to provide within a single Dashboard across all products.

Bottom line is, that thanks to the RESTful API, you can get central monitoring of the jobs across different Veeam products :) Ping me if needed

Has there been any update on this since the last post? I am also a Service Provider looking to be able to have similar functionality to the Service Provider Console in terms of monitoring with my customers using Veeam Backup for Azure.

No changes since the last time. Could you give some more information about what exactly you would like to see within the console for your usage?

Martin, just to make sure we are discussing the same topic > you do have an ability to monitor Veeam Backup for Azure via integration with Veeam B&R that has to be managed by the Console. If you need a capability to manage standalone VB for Azure (not integrated with Veeam B&R), then as Niels has said there are updates since the last post. Hope it helps!

HI Vitaliy,
You mentioned:
"you do have an ability to monitor Veeam Backup for Azure via integration with Veeam B&R that has to be managed by the Console."

This would be via the plugin for Azure and only with version Veeam 11 correct?

Thanks
