We are experiencing an issue where Isilon NFS shares become inaccessible.
The most recent change is configuring Veeam FS backup.
The backup jobs complete, however the shares are not responding.
We are working with Dell-EMC with this as a sev1.
We are not doing backup from the Isilon snapshot copy.
Is it possible that there is a lock on the file that is not releasing after backup completes?
Are there any logs that we can provide (i will open a case) to enable us to rule out Veeam?

Re: Isilon FS backup - impact to nfs shares
You can rule out Veeam right away, as NFS protocol simply does not expose a capability that allows NFS clients to make a share inaccessible for other clients in principle. Such "feature" would mean having a DDOS attack framework built directly into the protocol

Re: Isilon FS backup - impact to nfs shares
Thank you.. just want to ensure i cover all my bases.
I am planning on upgrading to v11 (currently v10)
I am looking into the process to move the FS backup to take advantage of the snapshot for backup.

Hi morciodm,
v11 allows file share backup jobs to be integrated with Dell EMC Isilon storage snapshots, as well as use native change file tracking. Definitely worth checking for your environment
