different between copy and move in SOBR Capacity Tier

Post by j2wong »

I have tried to use object respository to backup on premise backup to Azure Blob.

If i checked both copy and move backup in capacity tier, i found only copy action is done, move action seems not reflect.
So i would like to ask if there is different between only check copy and check both (copy and move).

Many thanks.

Hello,
and welcome to the forums.

Probably move has no impact on your environment because there are no "inactive backup chains" yet https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... ml?ver=110

If you enable weekly full backups (default settings), then you will see what "move" does once the time is over.
https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... ml?ver=110 and if you changed the advanced settings https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... ml?ver=110

Best regards,
Hannes

Yes! You must check off either Synthetic full or Active full to get the backup chain sealed in order for it to work. I just watched this video that explained it pretty well. Then came to the forums looking to see if there are other examples of people are using the Copy and Move checked at the same time.
