Recovery USB stick partitioning

When creating a USB recovery stick, the Creator tool automatically creates a 32GB bootable partition on the stick. That didn't matter as long as Windows didn't allow to create multiple partitions on a USB stick, but that has changed a while ago.

Nowadays, it would be great if the tool would create a partition just barely big enough to boot from it, say 1GB, so one could then add a 2nd partition with NTFS to save the backup on the same stick. That would allow to take your backup medium with you when traveling (e.g. a 128GB stick), plug it in for your daily backup, and always have the recovery system and your latest backup with you. With the current state, the useless 32GB partition wastes 1/4 of my backup medium size.

In case of an emergency, the stick would then be everything required after a crash.

Hi Andreas,

Remember that you can always export Veeam Recovery Media as .iso and partition\write bootable USB using 3rd party tools.
"Rufus" tool would be one out of hundreds examples capable of creating NTFS bootable USB stick out of Veeam RM iso.

You can target your backups on same partition and have it "all in one".
